Summary

The intrepid Captain Toad sets off on his own adventure for the very first time through a wide variety of tricky, enemy-infested, maze-like stages to find hidden gems and nab elusive gold stars.

Storyline

The treasure-loving Captain Toad and his companion Toadette are climbing a tower to claim a shining star when a giant villainous crow named Wingo swoops down, snatches the star, and carries Toadette off with it. Setting out to rescue her, Captain Toad must make his way through a series of compact, diorama-like environments packed with obstacles and hidden treasures. As their adventure unfolds, the two friends take turns being captured and coming to each other's rescue while pursuing Wingo across his colorful domain.
