Summary
When evil threatens the world, the world calls on Broforce - an under-funded, over-powered paramilitary organization dealing exclusively in excessive force. Brace your loins with up to four players to run ‘n’ gun as dozens of different bros and eliminate the opposing terrorist forces that threaten our way of life. Unleash scores of unique weapons and set off incredible chain reactions of fire, napalm, and limbs in the name of freedom.
Storyline
A side-scrolling run-and-gun game, Broforce casts the player as a member of the Broforce, an elite squad of hypermasculine commandos assembled under the direction of Nelson Brodela to combat terrorism across the globe. Each operative is an affectionate parody of an iconic action-movie hero, from the jungle-warfare specialist modeled on Rambo to the barefoot everyman patterned after Die Hard's John McClane, along with sendups of Chuck Norris, Mr. T, and the flamethrower-wielding heroine inspired by Alien's Ellen Ripley. Deployed into jungles, deserts, and enemy strongholds, the bros storm through fully destructible environments, rescuing captured comrades and prisoners of war while leveling everything around them with relentless gunfire. Freeing enough prisoners swells the roster with new heroes, each wielding weapons and abilities drawn from the film icon they lampoon. As the campaign escalates, the squad's fight against terror carries them into ever more outlandish territory, defending liberty in an over-the-top tribute to 1980s and 1990s action cinema.
